Après deux ans d'absence, le grand retour de Jack et Meg pour un opus probablement le plus lourd et rock que le duo ait jamais enregistré . Mais encore une fois le groupe se joue des clichés et attentes: du très blues "Rag And Bone" au très mariachi "Conquest" et le presque Beatles "You don't know...", il y en a pour tout les goûts sur ce disque, sans que jamais cette impression de puissance et d'illumination ne se dissipe.

Le groupeThe White Stripes a dévoilé les dates de sortie de son prochain album: «Icky Thump». Celui-ci sera disponible en Amérique du Nord le 19 juin.

Le disque qui succédera à «Get Behind Me Satan» (2005) doit être lancé le 18 juin au Royaume-Uni et en Europe via XL Recordings. Le lendemain, il sera disponible en Amérique du Nord mais aussi en Asie du Sud-est et au Japon sur étiquette Warner Bros.
